Matthew 18:3-5 And said, Truly I say to you, unless you repent (change, turn about) and become like little children [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving], you can never enter the kingdom of heaven [at
all]. Whoever will humble himself therefore and become like this little child [trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving] is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me.
Children play an extremely significant role in the church, the family and in the community. The Bible tells us that if we train them at an early age they will never depart from what they are taught. To train a child in the word of God and to help children establish a relationship with God is to create positive consequences for a lifetime.
The Lord Jesus Christ declared that unless we become like little children, we will never enter the Kingdom of God. This means that we too can learn from little children who are uncomplicated, trusting and innocent. Children can make a vital impact in their homes, schools, and society. They need to be trained well in love and given opportunities to learn and grow fully in the faith.
At East Gate Family Church we have a children’s church on a Sunday morning during the church service. This ministry is coordinated by Olivia Naidoo and there are at least 12 dedicated teachers playing an amazing role in the lives of our children.
